Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

A lively session comprising a series of short, focused demonstrations showcasing the latest technical innovations in the XBRL world.  Each speaker will be given just 7 minutes to give a presentation that must include a live software demonstration.  This is a great opportunity to keep abreast of recent developments in the world of XBRL technology.

The session will be moderated by Eric Cohen, and will include:

Leveraging Data Lakes with Cell Store technology
Dennis Knochenwefel, 28ms

A demonstration of Analytics on Japanese corporate filings leveraging Data Lakes with Cell Store technology.

Using XBRL for Solvency II & CRDIV: What is the operational reality behind the technical specifications?
Antoine Bourdais, Director of the Banking & Insurance Division, Invoke

In Europe, the CRD IV and Solvency II frameworks mark a turning point in how the XBRL standard can be leveraged in prudential regulation, by taking full advantage of powerful features such as the Formulae and Table Linkbase specifications.
In this session, you will learn how Invoke's standard, taxonomy-driven XBRL spreadsheet technology enables:
  • instantaneous design of pre-mapped Solvency II reporting tables using the table linkbase
  • high-performance validation of large volumes of multi-dimensional Solvency II data
  • business-oriented, dynamic rendering of validated XBRL instances
  • browsable anomaly reporting, with visual aids pointing directly to error cells
Based on Invoke's generic, web-based e-Filing portal application, trusted by banks, insurance companies and supervisory authorities worldwide, this demo proves how applied Invoke innovation delivers business-oriented tools that mask technical complexity while exploiting the full capabilities of highly-sophisticated XBRL taxonomies.

Reporting, data consolidation, auditing and monitoring using XKUBED
Gianluca Garbellotto by IPHIX

Due to the large amount of data, including transactional data, required to support these activities, processing speed in the XBRL processor is of essence. XKUBED relies on Altova RaptorXML for that. In this session you will:
  • See a demonstration of how XKUBED supports processes very different in nature by leveraging different XBRL taxonomies, existing or custom-built to support those processes.
  • Learn about the technical solutions used in XKUBED to store/process the data required to support them.
  • See how Altova RaptorXML takes advantage the processing power afforded by the multi-CPU, multi-core computers and servers that are ubiquitous in today's IT landscape to deliver performance, increased throughput, and efficient memory utilization to validate and process large amounts of data cost-effectively.

Solutions to technical challenges to display and edit Solvency II and ALM XBRL instances
by Jean-Paul Daisomont, Acsone

Arelle has been built for displaying and editing any XBRL instances for which table linkbases are defined. However, the tables in the Solvency II and ALM taxonomies are so large, that the previous version of Arelle had difficulties rendering them correctly. In this session, we shall demonstrate that the latest version of Arelle now displays and edits correctly all ALM tables and most of the Solvency II tables. We shall discuss the technological advances that have made this progress possible and we shall also present the challenges that are still ahead to display all Solvency II tables.

iConnect – Powering Google Sheet with XBRL Data
Iris, Shailesh Gupta

A demonstration of collaborative XBRL data analysis using Google Sheets.
